CFAS has hosted a wide variety of member education events, which have been well attended. Events have ranged from a webcast and panel discussion on fixed income to seminars on securitisation, the world market outlook, alpha transport, after-tax investment, corporate performance, risk management and networking skills.
We have enjoyed access to a number of our local experts, like Jack Gray, Mariette Rups-Donnelly, Warren Bird, Ian Heddle and Stuart Dear as well as some renowned overseas speakers, like Michael Ivanovitch, David Belmont, Rafael Resendes (all made available to us through the CFA Institute Speaker Retainer Program) and James Meketa, Bruce Dresner and Cliff Asness. We have been fortunate to receive assistance, through the provision of venues, catering and presenters from industry sponsors. For example, recent events were hosted by AMP Capital Investors, BT Financial Group, Macquarie Bank, Goldman Sachs JB Were, Colonial First State Global Asset Management, Perpetual Investments and ABN Amro. Their generosity has enabled us to significantly subsidise attendance fees for CFAS members for many of these events.
